Cumnock like many small mining towns in East Ayrshire has a plethora of features that help to define its unique identity. From its strong historical past to its natural wooded parks, these elements help define the people and the town. When transitioning through the modern world as a small town, sometimes the unique features become lost, hidden, or forgotten. By identifying the key unique features in Cumnock such as Lugar Water, the coal mines, Dumfries House, Woodroad Park, Knockroon, or the vacant industrial sites, plans can be formulated to regenerate or extract the maximum potential out of each element to further develop Cumnock as a key attraction site.  We aim to encourage slow growth in the population with occasional peaks of visitors through these aspirations.
