Adopting the strategy of depressing the motorway along its current course, this group focused on the opportunities in Glasgow to reconnect isolated areas and bring City usage towards the motorway rather than away from it. The important moves in this program include bridges across the River Clyde, street extensions over the motorway, partial coverings in the form of parks and green spaces over the motorway and the establishment of new local and district amenity centres (nodes) which would both promote usage of these new streets and parks and be dependent on the connections created by those streets and parks
