The draft foundation masterplan for Holmhead Ahead identifies the key strategic moves which have lead to the selection of this site as a key area for intervention. The area of Holmhead, to the north of Cumnock town centre, has significant potential for growth, both in the Knockroon Development and the other housing allocations. The challenge that the project seeks to address is how new development can be brought forward in a way to support the existing town centre and not further exacerbate the existing north/south socio-economic divide identified in the analysis stage.
