Our vision is to connect neighbourhoods using culture as a cornerstone in order to unite what is currently a very fragmented urban form.
A series of subtle, small-scale interventions combined with maximising the potential of existing public spaces will strengthen existing connections, forge new ones, and create a more coherent district in the ‘North Quarter’.
This new district will be punctuated by landmark buildings, both existing and proposed, in order to enhance Glasgow’s city centre and encourage its growth Northwards across the motorway. Pedestrian connections are particularly important as the area is currently very much dominated by the car; something which has to change in an ever more environmentally conscious society.
The canal will further help the environmental credentials of the plan and will be utilised both as a transport network and an area of natural beauty.
