Kum Tak Wong’s magnificent design for the regeneration of Govan district in Glasgow is one of the four shortlisted for the Urban Design Group’s Francis Tibbald Student Award 2010. The award, which this year will be assigned during the event held on Wednesday 2nd February 2011 in London, is given yearly to the best student’s urban design scheme submitted from all schools in the UK. Kum Tak’s work, named “Re-defining the spine of Govan” (see it here) aims at developing a central strip replacing an industrial zone which currently splits the district in two segregated parts.
This is the third time we have to congratulate Kum Tak: his work also was ranked third in the special LUC prize assigned to the best 3 projects in our MSc in Urban Design course 2010, and was awarded the prestigious Silver Medal as best project of all Year 5 students by the Glasgow City Council.
Again, well done Kum Tak, and cross fingers for the final Award!!
