Shawlands: Investing in People

By acting on human concerns such as coolness, relaxing places and socializing, this strategy will aim to bring a new mental identity and physical form to Kilmarnock road. Areas that will be looked at and changes will be spread out over a 30 year period to ensure their feasibility and success. Some of these are; elevating the status of the pedestrian over the car, spreading green infrastructure throughout the road to achieve improved ecological and spatial qualities, rethinking and reforming the Shawlands Arcade to create a social node. All is aimed at changing the experience and perception of daily users and bringing in new and varied uses and users.
